Jamila Minnicks will have a conversation with Barbara Kingsolver about her novel “Moonrise Over New Jessup,” which won the most recent PEN/Bellwether Prize for Socially Engaged Fiction, sponsored by Kingsolver. The novel is set in the 1950s in rural Alabama, where characters are struggling with issues of integration in the rapidly changing South. Kingsolver is the author of “Demon Copperhead,” which won last year’s Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
