Sunday with Friends: Sarah Jones

June 8 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

null

Sarah Jones, a Bristol, Virginia native, is the author of Disposable: America’s Contempt for the Underclass, a blend of personal narrative and in-depth reporting that exposes America’s racial and income equality and the devastating impact of the pandemic on the nation’s most vulnerable.

Using her own family as a backdrop, she examines the lives of the essential workers, seniors, and people with disabilities who were disproportionately affected by COVID-19, not due to ages or professions, but because of the systemic inequality and poverty that left them exposed.

Jones is a senior writer for New York Magazine, where she covers politics and religion. Her work has appeared in The New Republic, The Nation, the Columbia Journalism Review, and Dissent magazine. She is a graduate of the London School of Economics. She currently lives in Brooklyn.
