Meet Martin Haworth, Scottish novelist, missionary, and outdoorsman, whose love of history has led him to write the Z-Rod trilogy of novels, which takes the reader through an epic tale of 6th Century Scotland. It’s based on real historical events, set during the time when the Picts, the ancient people of Scotland, encountered the arrival of Irish monks. The result was a clash of cultures.

Haworth worked in community and church development with an Iron-age Filipino tribe, providing him an in-depth understanding of pagan belief practices. Recently he has established a business, Roaming Scotland, which leads groups on hikes throughout Scotland and helps connect visitors to Scotland’s landscapes and ancient history. His books have arisen from a fusion of these experiences and interests.

There will be book sales and signings following the author presentation. This event is free and open to the public.
