Our reference staff is always willing to help you find answers to your research questions.
The ASK A LIBRARIAN form sends us an e-mail.
We have many reference books in the library, including a Foundation Cooperating Collection to help grant seekers find grants, a Law Library for legal research, and a Virginia Room for genealogists and local history buffs.
Databases offer peer-reviewed, reliable information if you prefer to research online. We also can help you with citations for research papers.
We can teach you how to judge whether the information on a website is reliable or biased.
If you need photocopies of pages from our print reference collection, the cost is 15 cents per page for black and white copies and 50 cents per page for color copies.
Find a Grant
We are a Foundation library, with Foundation Funding Information Center databases and a Foundation Cooperating Collection for nonprofits and individuals who need to research and apply for grants.
We offer classes on how to use our databases and on many other topics (computers & gadgets, career assistance, internet and social media).
If there isn’t a class on the current schedule, you can schedule free tutoring or stop by during library hours for a demo of any research database.
