Silas House
February 26 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

For our Sunday with Friends program, meet one of Appalachia’s finest writers, Silas House, who is known for his evocative novels about working class life in rural southeastern Kentucky. House has written a timely, powerful story of survival set in the not-too-distant future—”Lark Ascending.” After fires have destroyed much of America and religious nationalism controls the country, Lark and his family sail to Ireland, the only country rumored to be accepting American refugees. After losing his family, Lark bonds with a mysterious woman in search for her son and one of the last remaining dogs still alive as they search for safety.
