For Sunday with Friends, join actress and fiber artist Quinn Hawkesworth in celebrating and remembering the life and writing of Abingdon writer Lou Crabtree, who died in 2002. Lee Smith “discovered” Crabtree in a writing workshop and helped nurture her writing career, especially the publication of a collection of stories, “Sweet Hollow.” Crabtree won many awards for her poetry, including a PEN/Faulkner award; awards from “Shenandoah” and the Poetry Society of Virginia; and the Virginia Center for the Book’s “Poetry Book of the Year” for the collection ”The River Hills and Beyond.”
