For our Sunday with Friends program, Meet Felicia Mitchell, retired English professor from Emory & Henry College, who will share poems from her new book “A Mother Speaks, A Daughter Listens: Journeying Together Through Dementia.” The book traces one mother-daughter dementia journey, from Audrey Mitchell’s early life through her years in an Abingdon nursing home–and also the emotional transformations that continue after a loved one’s death. The poems, revealing complex love and struggles with dementia, will invite you to reflect on what remains when so much changes.
