Event Details

We’ve brought back the popular Battle of the Books for our Summer Reading Program this year.

The two contenders are “A Walk in the Woods” by Bill Bryson and “Little Fires Everywhere” by Celeste Ng.

These two heavyweights battle it out inside the ring of your mind. Read one. Read both. Tell us which you like better.

When you check out one of these titles or attend a book discussion or related movie, you’ll be entered to win a “Battle of the Books” prize from the Friends of the Library.

We’ll be showing “Walk in the Woods” June 28 at 2 p.m., at the main library in Abingdon. We’ll serve “trail food.” The movie is rated “R” and contains some adult language.

A “Little Fires Everywhere” book discussion is July 9 at 2 p.m. at the main library.
