YOUTH SERVICES

Developing a love of reading among the youth in our community is one of the most important functions of the public library. We offer a variety of materials and services designed to promote reading and related activities. We invite you to learn more about this area of our service.

College Resources Guide

The Washington County Public Library Reference Staff has compiled a list of links as a resource for students and parents seeking information about college admission, college profiles, and financial aid. To view these resources click on the following link:  College Resource Links

Reading Lists

An extensive group of reading lists have been compiled by the staff in our Children's Department for Middle School students to read this summer.  The lists are arranged by age, reading level, topic and award category. Lists  are available at the Main Library and at the branches. They are also available online. Click here to view these lists.

Virginia Reader's Choice

Accelerated Reader

Accelerated reading lists, provided from the various schools, are located in the Main Library. We do not necessarily have all of these books nor do we offer the tests.
