SPECIAL SERVICES

The Washington County Public Library System strives to serve the public in a number of unique ways.  Our special services include:

Assistive Services

The Washington County Public Library System is committed to providing accessibility to library materials, programs, and services to all users.  All staff working in public service areas of the library will make every effort to accommodate reasonable requests from library users with disabilities. If your disability is invisible, please identify yourself as having a disability when you seek assistance.  Staff will make every effort to assist you in obtaining information from any library equipment or resource that is inaccessible to you. For more information on assistive services available at the library, click here.

Foundation Center Cooperating Collection

The Cooperating Collection includes print materials and computer workstations to obtain online or electronic database information.  New online resources include access to the IRS 990-PF, which includes information about the Foundation Center's funding priorities revealed in the list of grantees and amount of grant. For more detailed information on these resources click here.

Meeting Rooms

As a service to the community, the Washington County Public Library System allows non-profit groups and organizations to use Library meeting rooms to hold meetings, lectures, etc.   Public meeting rooms are available in the Abingdon branch, Damascus branch, and the Hayters Gap branch libraries. For detailed information on reserving these rooms, click here

Outreach

The Library strives to reach out to the community around us and extend our services to daycares, adult centers and homebound patrons.
