The Glade Spring Branch is located on Grace Street, just off
Town Square. It is housed in an old Episcopal Church building. The Library has
been part of the Washington County system for about twenty years. It was
previously operated by members of the community on a volunteer basis.
The Passawatami
Literary Society is reading Rhett Butler's People, by Donald McCaig
for its meeting on May 27 at 7:00 pm.
On June 24 at 7:00 pm the Glade Spring Branch is
participating in the Adult Summer Reading Program with a book discussion of
Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen. This event will be combined with
the regular monthly meeting of the Passawatami Literary Society Copies of the
book are available at the Glade Spring Branch. The public is encouraged to
participate in this community read, which has as its theme "Reading...The
Greatest Entertainment On Earth."
