If you need materials that we don't own, let us know. We can get them for you.
Interlibrary Loan allows Washington County Public Library patrons to borrow books and other materials that we don't currently own. If you cannot find needed materials in our collection, an ILL request can be submitted at any branch. The form can also be completed online.
Please note, this does not apply to material that is at a different branch of the Washington County Public Library. If, for example, the Main library does not own a book, but it is available at Damascus, a reserve can be placed on the item and it will be routed to the Main library for pick-up.
This does apply to books that belong to HAL Consortium members: Tazewell Public Library, King College, Emory & Henry College. Patrons can check books out at these locations using their WCPL card. If they prefer, the items can be requested through ILL.
In order to request material through Interlibrary Loan, you must have a library card with no outstanding charges. You must also fill out and submit an interlibrary loan form. You may use the webform here and automatically submit it via email, or interlibrary loan forms are available at all of our branches to fill out in person. These may be given to any member of library staff.
Please email any questions about interlibrary loan to Trish Chaney.
